About Ellie

Hi, I’m Ellie! I’m a trauma therapist specializing in complex interpersonal trauma – especially childhood abuse, intimate partner abuse, and all forms of psychological abuse. As a queer mental health provider, I have a deep commitment to providing identity-affirming services for trans and queer clients, and have experience working with a wide diversity of people.

My clients and I work together through psychoeducation, EMDR, and cognitive therapy to transform difficult life experiences so that they can regain control and purpose in their lives. Many of my clients are interested in getting to the root of their problems – even though they may be fearful or ashamed. Working together, we will build a sense of safety and readiness before each step forward. Sessions are focused on understanding how past trauma is impacting daily life, moving through hard emotions, and discovering what’s next for them.

In addition to working as a trauma therapist, I love reading fiction, cooking & baking, yarn crafts, gardening, watching reality TV, and cuddling my two rescue dogs.

Credentials

I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University with a certification in Trauma-Informed Care. I’ve earned certification in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and completed EMDR training through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness. I am licensed in the state of Ohio as an independent social worker (LISW).
